Correct Verticals in Real Estate and Architectural Photography
Deep dive on how to (and how not to) correct your vertical and horizontal lines, most importantly for real estate and architectural photography. Its a subtle change but bad verticals are a hallmark of amateur property photography. Demonstrated in four different software options, but the process should be the similar in just about any photo editing software!

3D + Video Composite in Blender

A quick composite of rendered 3D objects (the titles) composited onto camera-solved video footage using Blender 3D software. *I have had the same idea for offline internet* .... 150 terrabytes total of data 40 Terrabytes for youtube videos 1 minute to 5 minute 480p videos . From a diversity of 1000 different words to choose from in the search bar. with 2 pages with 10 videos for each keyword it makes a total of 20 videos / keyword . 1000 keywords x 20 videos = a total of 20.000 videos . each worth 50 mb = a total of 1 Terrabytes This means that we could put atleast 100 videos per keyword = 5 Terrabytes and if we double the amount of keywords for 2 words variations on the search bar = 10 Terrabytes if we double that again makes it 20 terrabyte and the double of that makes it 40 Terrabytes This makes it possible to make combinations of 6 words on the search bar for only 40 Terrabytes 40 terrabytes for Google search with 1000 simple keywords and only 2 webpages per word . with the possability to use a total of 5 keywords on the search bar . - all forums and blogs offline FOR SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERIENCE - idbm for browsing any info on any movie ever made - same for series and cartoons - same for music Just like wikipedia ... The browser will function like opera lite and only load the usefull content and ignore heavy stuff . 30 Terrabytes for google image With 1000 keywords x 4 variations ( 2 pages for each word ) 10 terrabytes for giphy with 1000 keywords 10 terrabytes for : Chatgpt offline Ai Image generator offline Wikipedia offline Google maps offline 20 terrabytes for all essencial programs and free pc/android video games to download on Apps store . 3GB game x 333 games = 1 Terrabytes 2GB game x 500 games = 1 Terrabyte 1gb game x 1000 games = 1 Terrabyte 500mb game x 2000 games = 1 Terrabyte 100mb games x 10.000 games = 1 Terrabyte 50mb games x 20.000 games = 1 Terrabyte 14 Terrabytes for programs like : top 10 video editors top 10 vfx software top 10 image editors , top 10 music creation programs top 10 instrumental creation programs top 10 autotune programs top 10 coding language programs top 10 game developing programs top 10 old game developing programs top 10 writting programs top 10 app design programs top 10 3D modeling programs top 10 drawning programs top 10 coloring programs top 10 music/video players System softwares and drivers And thousands of other freeware and open source programs... ( all these programs are actually under 3 Terrabytes ) And like that we could browse the internet offline ... Buy it in the store and just use it at home ... for who thinks this is not enough , it is possible to double the content for the offline internet pack with 300TB instead of 150 TB And even use 720P for youtube videos Who is going to work on this and commercialize it ? it would also be cool to : Have over Thousands of movies and hunderds of full series on a disk but that is probably illegal lol

    Chris. Is there any software that can simulate lighting and shadows for real estate. Let's say you had exterior photos of a home and you wanted to add life to it by having realistic lighting and shadows. In other words converting a cloudy scene to sunny. Possible?

    • @cgardinerphoto
      @cgardinerphoto 4 месяца назад

      hey there, thanks for your comment - and for being one of the 15 people to watch this. hahaha. I've thought about what you're asking before - my use case would be more to do with making realistic fake twilights where the lamps cast appropriate glow onto portions of the exterior. something like blender COULD do this, however, it may be time and cost prohibitive because you'd need a fairly accurate 3d reconstruction of the exterior for it to catch all the lighting properly. AI is getting pretty good at generating 3d mesh from a single still however, so the mesh generation may not be far off from where we are today. Also gaussian splats could get you a half decent starting point, but would still need some post processing to do the lighting and then composite it in. And then I've also played around with some style transfer AI to train it on two sets of images - cloudy exteriors, and blue sky exteriors, and then it will try to convert cloudy to blue sky, (or vice versa) however I need a beefier GPU to make it more viable - I was maxing out around 1000px images so that project has been sitting on the back burner.. for now, I just settle for doing the old fashioned blue sky swaps with photoshop. I've got a tutorial about how to make blue sky swaps, and IMO I share some tips to make them a little more realistic than what you may get back from an (or most) outsourced editor team. But this is pretty standard practice so Im assuming youre not as interested in it; ruclips.net/video/VLzeQbKBOxs/видео.html

    • @drumtro11
      @drumtro11 4 месяца назад

      @@cgardinerphoto Sky swaps are good but I want to use AI to somehow add lighting and shadows from trees and shapes etc. I don't even know if this is possible but imagine AI looking at a scene and knowing the objects and how the light will hit it causing highlights and shadows.

    There seems to be a major limitation. Can Kiwix only be downloaded directly to a reader (phone, computer, etc.)? It would be much more useful if I could copy it to whatever storage device I was using. Otherwise, if my reader breaks and I have to find a new one but the internet doesn't exist anymore, then all of the information I have downloaded on the SD card is useless unless I happen to stumble upon another reader that already has Kiwix installed. Am I missing something?

    • @cgardinerphoto
      @cgardinerphoto 5 месяцев назад

      hey Daniel, thanks for your comment. it can be installed directly on device - not sure about e-readers, but windows/Mac/linux computers should be no problem, however, if you install it on one device attached to your home's internet router for instance, you can make it available to every device in your home regardless of whether 'the internet exists' anymore or not because its being served locally - you'd only need power for the device (minimal in the case of a raspberry pi) and power for the router (also usually minimal). this is how I have it set up. the ZIM files can be quite large too, so to distribute those across any device you want to be able to access it on would make for a lot of extra storage space required.

    • @daniels1485
      @daniels1485 5 месяцев назад

      @@cgardinerphoto Thanks for the response, but I'm asking if kiwix can be installed directly on an SD card, flash drive, etc. and then be transferred from that to a phone or computer. I'm imagining a worst case scenario where you have to bug out and then your phone that has kiwix installed breaks and you have to scavenge for a new phone. If there's no internet then the only way to retrieve kiwix would be if it was transferable from one storage device to another.

    • @cgardinerphoto
      @cgardinerphoto 5 месяцев назад

      @@daniels1485 hi Daniel, I probably misunderstood your original question. lets take the case of an iPhone, you could store your ZIMs and the source for iOS platforms on an SD card and build it yourself. here is the source for iOS. not for the faint of heart by the looks of it though. And they provide similar source code / build options for androids. [[ edited to add: you'd probably still need a computer to build it and deliver to your phone though. ]] kiwix.org/en/applications/ github.com/kiwix/apple The problem (I have) with cell phones is they're consumer devices which keep a lot of the back end functionality just out of reach of normal users, proprietary batteries, etc, plus who knows whos watching me. Anything you can load linux onto is effectively the total opposite of a consumer device, all of its functionality is at your fingertips, and personally I prefer that route. -what I might recommend for a similar level of security in similar situations, is get two raspberry pi zero W 2s. they're maybe $20 each. they're 1/4 the size of a cell phone too, so easy to tuck into a first aid kit, or bug out bag lets say. they can run on little phone charger battery packs even, or anything you can plug a USB into. -get the system set up on the device for one, where the pi zero w becomes your wifi access point, no router needed. a tiny bit of coding needed but really not that hard. -once the first pi is functional for this purpose, use the built in SD card imager. this just duplicates your operating system and everything else with it, and you can do this infinite number of times. it makes a backup of the system in its current state. you could plug those newly imaged sd cards into your backup pi when your first breaks and functionally, you'll have the same working version just a different physical copy of it. I use some raspberry pis in my work, (not the zeros for what I do) but I have backup hardware (extra raspberry pis) and backup, already-imaged SD cards in the case one of either piece gets exploded/set on fire/soaked with water/other unfortunate events. best of luck to you! thanks again for watching!

    • @cgardinerphoto
      @cgardinerphoto 5 месяцев назад

      hey, thanks for your comment and for watching the video. you're not wrong either! although there's some element of 'buyer beware' and a responsibility to provide their own due diligence through home inspections, asking questions, etc. Its still a good skill to have. Just today for instance, shot a place, and not everything was photo-ready upon my arrival, the fireplace was eventually turned on for video however, I had already shot stills in that room, so I've added fire to the fireplace. also, when youre concerned about these matters, its always smart to deliver the original and the photoshopped copy, and then the onus is on the realtor to decide which one is more appropriate to use. As a photographer, I produce images as requested, but im not there to supervise the realtor and the operation of their business. anyways, all the best and thanks for stopping by.

    Hey Chris! Is there a way to rotate or scale a clip once it's in the drop zone? I see other creators making transparent overlay guidelines to manually position the clips, but if I need to rotate the clip, I'm left with a crooked video.

    • @cgardinerphoto
      @cgardinerphoto 6 месяцев назад

      hey Kyle, thanks for your question. just tested your situation; for context, I'm imagining you find a shot where your gimbal was slightly off, and you may want to rotate by 1 degree lets say? -- no, I dont currently have anything built into the generator to facilitate that. however, scaling the clip inside the generator without affecting the boundaries - yes we can do that. You'd double click the offending clip inside your viewer, and then you'd be presented with the regular dashed lines and blue circles around the corners to resize however you wish. for rotating, two options; 1)rotate the clip on its own and then make it a compound, and then use the compound clip asthe source of the drop zone. 2) I could probably work out some kind of rotation slider for each drop zone, however, we'd then need one rotation slider for each drop zone, and it might present further complications, and/or not work as I'm expecting it to in my mind right now. in any case -- thanks for watching, and sharing your ideas!

      hey Sam, thanks for watching. and great question. all of this is render. the original room/photo was an unfinished basement from a regular DSLR and we wanted to highlight what a nice renovation could do to the space for a real estate client. in the interest of making the 360 rendered video, being a personal project using the same scene, I just put some extra walls behind the camera so we had something to look at if anyone turned in that direction. if on the other hand, you are aware of an easy workflow to take real 360 photos and pull them into blender for alignment (like ive demonstrated in another virtual staging video I have using fspy and blender) then I would be happy to hear more from you about it though! there are definitely ways to take your photographed scene and 'project' those captured colors and lighting onto the 3d mesh, which I do demonstrate that in a virtual staging with blender video, but haven't got it working with a 360 original photo. let me know if there's any other questions you have, or something you're trying to achieve though, and id be happy to share whatever else I know.

      @@cgardinerphoto Thanks for the info Chris. Seeing your virtual staging video actually got me to FINALLY start learning Blender about a year and a half back. I'm really thankful for it. I recently started looking into how to get 360 scans into Blender for doing Matterport staging. It's crazy how much harder it is than for a 2D photo with fspy! It gets so complex so fast. I've tried a few things that haven't worked at all. I even spent/wasted the $50 on the MatterPak .obj file. The mesh is awful, and probably only works well if you're using a Pro3 camera. Something I'm going to try when I get a few spare minutes soon is a workflow for krpano, with a projection add on that I can't remember the name of. If I make any viable progress with it I'll shoot you an email.

    Excellent idea. I have used mod podge for other tasks, such as representing water for dioramas. One trick I learned that might could help for your final top coat would be to thin it a little with water. That would reduce the viscosity and might allow you to smooth it out good enough while rolling it for a single coat. But I totally get why you sand it and then apply the second coat. I do the same when sealing many of my scale models. Makes for a very smooth finish. BTW, the main reason for watching this is because I want to add a small picture to the wooden base of my diorama frame so trying to see the best way to do that.

      He said that you dont need to sand it if you use the yellow mod podge, so can you please Tell me what I have to do in exchange if I dont sand it?

      @zorawthustra I will be honest I am not sure. I would think you would have to sand allow it unless trying to thin it with water. Can you explain what you are trying to achieve.

    Thank you so much for sharing! This was very helpful. I am using very large high resolution images (16000 x 21000 pixels) 199 MB so photoshop seemed to be the perfect tool to efficiently create my image masks. However, I could not find many videos on this. Appreciate the video.

      while there are lots of brands of resin out there, yes I am sure some people are making those things with this product as well. I've also used art resin which is another similar, and high quality product. Thanks for watching!

    Quick question. If the internet goes down (like a cyber attack lol) would this app still work so I can still read my downloaded Wikipedia? I guess I was thinking apps are hosting on the company’s server. Sorry, I’m really new to this and trying to understand it all. Thank you!

    • @cgardinerphoto
      @cgardinerphoto 8 месяцев назад

      hey! thanks for watching and leaving your comment. Theoretically, yes, if you have power to the device that is hosting it you can access on that device. If you have power to that device and some network infrastructure you can access from any device on your local area network. I've hosted mine so its available to anyone who is at home on my wifi. Using docker, and portainer was how I set up my server for this. However, the Kiwix:KiwixServer docker image has been removed. It is now maintained on the Github Container Registry, however I am not sure how to use portainer with docker (as in my case) in order to make it the easy process as I've somewhat demonstrated here. Anyways! good luck with it and thanks for watching.

    If I am making several prints or mounting A3+ prints I have found using an inexpensive gravity feed automotive spray gun and mixing the sealant with about 20% water gives a really smooth finish without sanding or worrying about texture. Cleaning the gun takes a couple minutes using clean water.

      It’s ok even if you dont sand it? Or you do something else in exchange?

    • @yukonica4560
      @yukonica4560 6 месяцев назад

      Just the spray. Light coats but no sanding.@@zorawthustra I'm going to try a more viscous mix to lay down the glue between the backing and the print. Kind of like 3M 77 without the toxins.

      hey, you're right - despite it being a part of my business for recent years, its seems I stuck to strictly interior views for this slideshow. to be fair, the drone didn't become an offering until the latter half of the video anyway around 2017. but.. if you wanted to have a look of my more real estate specific work - it has its own channel here, where I host client videos separate from this channel; ruclips.net/channel/UC-E9Spkn0etxqRQsfI7ErbQ @collingwoodrealestate

      Hi @BryanWomackART, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Its been a while since I've used this printer so my memory might be a bit spotty but... I seem to remember one way of powering down the machine in order to have the tray not locked in place and manually positionable to the location I pictured here, what that is I can't quite remember but it *could be* removing the plug from the wall while the carriage is in motion so the locks don't engage. I hope it goes well for you!

    Hey Chris, I am interested in turning a single circular fisheye into equirectangular 1:1 aspect ratio image, for use in 180 degree VR (ie no stitching required, just the barrel distortion correction). Any advice for doing that in Hugin? I tried, could not determine a workflow, but I probably do not understand Hugin well enough. With the adjustments available for panoramic stitching, it seems it would be capable for a single image..

    • @martenberkman1320
      @martenberkman1320 10 месяцев назад

      Actually, I was able to figure out, simply have to configure the assistant panel: Assistant: load image (36 mp full frame FX sensor nikon d810 circular fisheye, cropped square to edges of circle); set as full frame fisheye; focal length 8 ; focal length multiplier 1.18; set image sliders to vertical and horizontal FOV 180; click align, click create panorama (since only one image is supplied, it ignores the stitching function) , set pixel dimensions to desired level up to original image size, save .pto first, then image is exported. Voila! I processed a left and right fisheye of same scene, put together as side by side 3D in photoshop, they came together beautifully as stereo 3D VR in the Quest 2 headset. Thanks for introducing me to Hugin!

      hey! happy to hear your success story! you're using Hugin for a process I haven't, but that's great that its working for your use case. I've got a quest myself and this sounds like an awesome idea to try myself. Thanks!

    What's the biggest photos can be printed?

    • @cgardinerphoto
      @cgardinerphoto 9 месяцев назад

      you can get prints quite large. biggest I've done is about 13x19. getting a clean drop onto the glue will get more and more precarious as the paper size increases I would think.
